@Canners - i'm yet to even tap up the black cats yet, but i'm a lifelong Newbery fan so i'm likely biased as they are pretty much the benchmark as far as i'm concerned, not for size of willow or grainage, but Tim sets aside better performing SPS clefts then presses them differently so that they just go, even without much knocking in.  These black cats are the Jessica Albas of the bat world though, everything's perfect but i'm not sure i want to bash it about.  My Newbery's are more your Linday Lohan's, they ain't so pretty from some angles but they'll turn up for the filthiest of parties

@Tim .. actually no .. i've got my own thoughts on where these black cats come from.  As much as Matt said he pressed the bat himself i does have a remarkably similar feel to the newberys but my suspicion from a quick tap on the shadow would be that they originate from somewhere in Devon, but that's just my layman's' tuppence and of complete irrelevance.  they are all fantastic bats and i'm very happy to support the craftsmen who made/shaped/pressed/squashed/greased/kicked and licked them
