batoff III - Revenge of the Stig
« on: January 26, 2012, 07:39:05 PM »

hello.
yes, there is going to be a third batoff.
there are a number of people who won't be sleeping much this evening. and another group who will be very excited about a very exciting day tomorrow.

some say he sleeps in his cricket bag
some say he hums the national anthem of Mongolia while walking out to bat.
we only know he will be stroking willow in the morning.

that is a very sound request - the camera that is, not sure about the stig's batting.

there has been some trial and error at the barn and we now have a tripod for one of the cameras and it will be under the bowling machine protected by a table.

This will be a pretty special batoff, for example we will be comparing two vintage gm100's with two modern ones, plus a blankbats and a few others.

oh and the stig is entering his new bat too...  :o

Indeed. The preparation and planning is second to none. Even down to who is bringing what cake and biscuits! A real step up from earlier events...

there is one remaining question, will the stig be prepared to remove the white helmet and bat in the very special ayrtek lid that has been kindly provided by Tom.

If it's not too late an addition, I have a batoff request.

Could you do some kind of perceived weight test? I.e. the tester has to guess the weight of the bat being used, and then compare that with actual weight afterwards.

Stig being the stig, i think he should test his new lid  by a direct hit at 90mph

Ooh this is a good idea, would be interesting to see the results of this if it's done

Ahh - I see now, not guessing the weight of the batsman then!

There may also be the possibility of guessing the forum member by their outfit and batting style! We could have a quiz.
