may i also add that the kit should come with a warninging note, box of bandaids, painkillers and rubbing alcohal be part of the kit  :), i know i am gonna need it specially working with drawing knife

You defiantly will. I sliced the back of my finger open using a drawknife and had to have stitches and my whole finger in a bandage for 4 days. Also, don't test the sharpness of the tools with your fingers.

I have managed to get hold of 2 more drawknives, meaning i now have 2 complete tool sets left also :)

How do you sharpen your knives. The one I have is very blunt and the oilstone isn't making a lot of difference...

You'll do better with something with diamond in the mix for sharpening. Especially if its old steel, which my old man says engineers call 'glass hard'. He lent me one of these and it worked a treat. Bit fiddly but worth it when you're sailing through that cleft!

Going to order one of the sharpeners recommended, which grit would you go for?

Agree about the twine, any ideas where would be best to get some?

Ordered my sharpener yesterday.Cheers sam. Went medium grit as I have an oil stone to finish it on.

Irish waxed twine off ebay is best for binding. I have a small sharpening stone with medium grit on one side and fine on the other and it works fine for sharpening.
