Like Tom said with the engravings, I reckon GM etched onto each edge would yep look bloody brilliant! Would also help combat those bloody awful fakes we see on eBay!

Please please please please please bring the Purist back! Small edges big spine!

I know it's only recently stopped being made, but it was such a good bat. The pick up was very, very nice, it was well balanced and it played superbly well.. I've used 4 Purists, only one was my own but even now I would pick an old, used one over my bat. Sadly the bat I got my first hundred with (Purist) is on it's way to Australia with it's owner in a few weeks. I offered to buy it off of him but sadly it was a no.

Saying all of that my first 50 was with a Purist II which would be my second choice however I feel this may be too similar to the Halo or 1885, as would a resurrection of the Hero.

I can't begin to describe how awesome it would be to own a new Purist. I would sell enough of my equipment to buy one if it came out. I even e-mailed GM last year if they had any knocking about the factory I'm that desperate :(

I still remain convinced that if you want something to be retro and stand out, I think an updated Diamond remains the way to go.

Failing that... surely (just to trick Colesy ;))

Make a bat with a high spine and thin edges, and one with a laver-esque flat top. I would also do something with mahusive edges that doesn't weigh much. GM++. Do a special bat that has a different sticker design to the others, not just different colours. Price it ludicrously. Experiment with handles. Create some fancy-dan gimmick a la Salix CTS edges.
