Pro PLayer's Batting Technique analysis
« on: February 15, 2012, 01:57:51 PM »

Similar to what other people have done but with a different player. Analysis the technique everyone. Stance, trigger move, how he plays leg side shots and shots in general are some suggestions.

fair enough haha

I just think it is very hard to try and replicate his technique as you mentioned in another thread as it is very unique and wont work for many other people as their ability isnt up to it basically...his hand eye co ordination is exceptional and that has a lot to do with it.

I personally thin you would be better off playing the way you feel comfy rather than trying to be like someone else...

Can I suggest you try to bat like Ian Bell rather than KP... it might be a better long term bet technically.

KP is one of a kind (love him or hate him) Ian Bell is more of a purist.

Failing that, Michael Clarke for me would also be a great person to follow technically - especially against spin.

I'm no trying to copy his technique just a similar trigger move and his leg side shots the way he plays spin/defensive shots with an angled bat I wil not copy and don't do anyway. I have an ian bell type drive and cut shot but the style of kps trigger I find easier an want to hit leg side shots lik him.

you want to play a forward defence like Kp? his is the worst in the business. as for playing leg side shots like him, with his trigger, prepare to be lbw.

a lot.

Why? Whats the point? KP is so technically incorrect that it would be almost impossible to mimic without a stupid amount of luck and arrogance, and the amount of talent that he once had. Besides, it looks horrendously ugly, and you will look like a muppet when you get it wrong. KP is a once in a lifetime player and unfortunately, he's it.

Pah, Buzzby you are too grumpy - the question isn't "I want to bat like KP" it is in fact..

I want to play the step across and smash over cow corner like the stig does...

Have to agree with what's been said previously. Don't try and emulate KP. Most of the time you will end up looking like a plonker. Unless of course you are ten. Then you will grow up and realise how stupid you have been!
