  • If I only could bat....

Living a couple of miles from Walworth, I was invited to pop over to It's Just Cricket for a sneak preview prior to it opening on 25th February.

This morning I drove over and spent an hour in the shop with Paul. On arriving I discovered that the on street parking is free at the weekends, which is great if you are going to buy a load of kit, and I had no trouble finding somewhere to park.

I approached the shop

And Paul welcomed me in. Let me introduce the Legend himself:

The shop is currently very well stocked with loads of kit from loads of manufacturers and has the wonderful smell of Willow and Rubber that you only get in a cricket shop.

There is a wide range of brands for everyone, with my favourite possibly being the GM Original LE Icon. Stunning cosmetically!

But it's not just about GM. There is Kookaburra, Bradbury, GN, BoomBoom, Mongoose, Willowstix, SS, Hunts and I'm sure I've forgotten others. A very nice range and a lovely Stick...

It's Just Cricket also caters for the Junior player, with a good range here as well.

As you look around, there is plenty on offer, including loads of options in softs, protection and helmets, not to mention boxes of bags awaiting display!

There is also a footwear range, Kook sunglasses and what every cricket shop needs, yes, loads of balls...

A key thing to remember is that It's Just Cricket is also an Ayrtek stockist, so if you want to try one, pop along and stick your noggin in:

That's it for the starter. I'll be back a little later to talk about my chat with Paul and show off a couple of things of which he is rather fond!

Looks very much like the Aylesbury estate in the background. That place is the ghetto!

Best of luck on the new venture of course! At least if the hoodlums come in trying to create trouble you have plenty of sticks with which to beat them ;)

It is indeed a bit slummy at the moment, but thankfully, they are in the final stages of building a nice looking new build apartment block called Albany Place just across the road, http://www.albany-place.com/

Noted about the bare walls, good point - we need to frame a couple of prints we've bought and put them up anyway, plus a poster or too to be added, and a bit of POS, so hopefully that'll sort that one out...

Thanks a lot for this, Tim.  Loving the angles of some of the photos.  I just wish the photo of me was equally as flattering! :-(

  • Hi, I'm Joe

Did you happen to notice if they stocked the millichamp and hall suede keeping gloves in youths and men sizes? I have small hands....

Had them briefly but they quickly sold out! Have re-ordered but was told delivery would have to wait until about 10th-11th or March... It will be Mens size only.

Do you have a mailing list? mini.dunk@gmail.com feel free to add me.

If I was to try on the mens and they were too large, would you then be able to order in youths?

No problem, will do.  And the answer is yes: delivery turnaround with M&H is usually 7-10 days maximum, but in the last case they were just temporarily out of stock, hence the delay.
