These made me laugh reds! aha! How is ST over rated? aha!

Since Tendulkar got to his 99th century in my opinion he has been batting for himself and not the team...

Guptill purely because the way he plays with his disability is astonishing again in my opinion dude

Jonathan Trott is a fine 2020 player, first to score 1000 runs in domestic 2020 and is just class, its always puzzled me why he isnt in the 2020 squad.
There you are then, we agree that Trott would be better in the team than Bopara! End of argument. I would say it's been a pleasure but I'd be lying ;)

I think he should be in the side instead of morgan/buttler/bairstow!

I've not read the whole thread, but having watched the whole game today, and all of Ravi's innings I still don't think he is better than other players for that number 3 place in T/20s. Despite top scoring I felt he was putting pressure on other players to score, he's not a match winner for England, or a player the opposition fears. He is an average all-rounder in international terms and don't think he'll ever improve enough.

i suspect the people responsible for selecting the squads and teams have a deeper insight into who deserves to play and whether or not they are good enough
they see what happens behind the scenes and just generally know whats right
you can moan about boparas selection but it wont change anything, hes playing well at the moment give him credit

bopara is not good enough to represent england, this has been proven over a period of time and i dont think a couple of 50s and a 35 against pakistan change that. his only defence would be runs against west indies in 2009, but it is fairly obvious now that these were a flash in the pan against a poor, disinterested and demoralised opposition.

buttler and taylor are the future. for englands sake (and after so many opportunities), lets forget about ravi

I think the thing people are forgetting is that you can't just chuck tons of youngsters into the team and expect them to perform to a top standard in a short space of time. Kieswetter is unreliable, Morgan out of form plus Bairstow and Buttler are still new to the team and finding their feet. You can't expect any of those players to steady the ship mid innings and lead England on towards a big total. Until our other batsmen start hitting major form, we NEED Bopara in the team to play the same role that Misbah plays for Pakistan.

The youngsters need to be playing around more senior players like Bopara 'til they find their feet, if you chuck in Taylor then you are going to have 3 inexperienced batsmen in one after the other, they will put pressure on each other and stop themselves from improving. After the T20 world cup when they all have more experience, then put Taylor in the team.

But he doesn't play the same role that misbah does. All you need to do is compare their records over the last 12 months, and you'll realise that they are miles apart.

Misbah-ul-Haq 26 from 26 - Ravi Bopara 39 from 32... I would say he did a better job..

Look, I understand that you don't like him, I didn't before this series. But he has played miles better than almost every other England batsmen(Excluding Pietersen and Cook). If we drop him now, we might aswell condemn ourselves to getting terrible T20 scores for the next year..

Why don't we drop Morgan instead? Ohh yes because of his reputation. He has done **** all this series and yet nobody wants to get rid of him. Why do you lot prefer players with big reputations who are doing nothing, over players with very little reputation playing very well?
