Thought some of his sweeping looked a bit iffy tbh, especially against the off spin....

Is it just me appears to be batting on off stick against both off & leg spin. (trying something new? commentators suggested this for batsman against Ajmal)

I think he is trying to take the lbw out of the equation by batting on off stick. I think rather than being a bit iffy against off-spin there is a length where he is not sure what to do as I feel he does not read spin very well.

Looks more of a forward press to me.

Why was you not sure if you would be allowed to post them and where did you get them from???

lad at school is on the EPP and i asked to see some vids of him batting and bowling so he fetched a memory stick in..

and it had these two videos on it as well because ian was there for them to pick up tips etc..

so i dont really own or have permisions for the video.

thats why they are set to link only access on you tube

on the technique - I think he looks significantly more comfortable against the legspin personally which is unusual.
He appears to be taking guard on Middle and Off and then using a forward press movement. Personally I think this is making him look unbalanced against the offspin.
His execution of the sweep looked terrible - but then I think he was premeditating every shot to try and work the ball into the "gaps" or targets.
Having said that what a wonderful player he is to be able to premeditate like that and still look a class act
