I think mate that Paul(?) Bradbury started to make bats in Australia, then moved to Somerset, and I think he was even a Chard player, or part of the club at least, at a similair time to when Julian Millichamp and Jonathan Hall also played for us. Him and Sally then spent 5/6 years moving between Australia and England, before staying back in Aus (I think)

, there's a few beautiful memento bats kicking around at the club. After doing some research, M and H might have played a bit before that to be honest.

I think Paul played there at the same time as John hall. Julian never really played that much. Phil played with all of them so he will no for sure.

I had a Bradbury about 10 or so years ago. Bought it from Romida for �90. It went very very well, but did find the blade narrow for some reason. I played an away game and someone decided to help themself to the bat while we were fielding.
I bought this on recommendation from our overseas player at the time called Langley Angel, who held (im not sure if still) the highest partnership for Perth with one of the Hollyoak brothers. He swore by the bats.
Just like most brands, i feel the price of bradbury willow is now very high.

Burdy you could bat with a shovel and find it narrow

Partly, yes, they have a workshop in a farm in Somerset, hence the connections with M&H. But a lot of manufacturing still done in Aus. From my discussions with M&H, they seem to respect Bradbury more than the other hand mades, but no name dropping here!

And to answer the earlier point, yes, their new UK distributor is Jon Hardy (Masuri).

I've seen an awful lot of bats in the past few months, but as a bat making brand Bradbury is right up there for me terms of consistent beauty throughout the entire range. Even the 400s and the 100s have impeccable grainage. So distinctive too, but not mainstream. I felt they might be more popular on this forum. Interesting market research at least, thanks guys!

The finishing on Bradbury's is one thing that has always put me off. I do love their stickers though and have had them on most of my bats.

The only thing that killed Bradbury in this country is/was the ease at which their stickers could be sourced on ebay.

I'd say there's probably 5 fakes for every real bat out there.

Which is a shame as I think they look like great bats.

i know paul and his nephews as i played with both in Perth. Good lads and good bats. Id rate them pretty highly although i would want one made by paul and not english made- does anyone know who does the english side?
