He's a great player no doubt about it, but he's not even close to Bradman....99.94 average? On uncovered pitches? No Helmets? Bats like matchsticks? Bradman by a mile!

And let's not overlook the likes of Kallis, Lara, Dravid, Hobbs, Hammond, Pollock, etc, etc!
The list could go on all day of top class batsmen but none of whom are on quite the same level as The Don!

And Pedals - spot on about playing on uncovered pitches, etc! Plus there were still 90mph+ bowlers around even then , such as Larwaood! Can't imagine trying to play 90mph in those conditions and with bodyline tactics!!

Anyway, I digress....

Well done Sachin!! Absolute top class batsman and one of the best!
I think the Indian team still need his class, skill and attitude to set an example to the new batsmen slowly coming into the Indian team!

Great Achievement, I see him retiring now that he has the milestone. Yes he may have got it for himself, but SRT will be remembered at the first person to get 100 test tons for India, this is a great image for him and the Indian team. It would be a great marketing tool to get more people into the game at 100 seems better than 101 or 112, not sure why.

Also I didn't see the whole Indian team getting tons against Bangladesh, you can only bat at what is coming in front of you.

That I only found out that Bangladesh actually won that game a day later once the frenzy had died down says it all about the hysteria surrounding this statistic.

I believe the game was only on Zee TV in the UK, and when there's little publicity about a match I'm unlikely to be bothered.

I agree with Pete and Pedals, bradman was in a class of his own, but sachin is undoubtedly a brilliant player and has had a fantastic career and to reach 100 hundreds just caps it off!
