I don�t know when I became THIS picky about softs (probably since I joined this forum) but I�ve tried a number of pads and gloves recently all of which have something I don�t quite like about them � from fit, to comfort, to look, to colour combination � some of the dislikes are very superficial.

So I was looking into (just toying with the idea at the moment) having some custom made where I can provide photos and highlight design elements I like. I know some of you have started companies recently and potentially have contacts. Ok realistically you probably don�t want to share that information, and I don�t blame you but I�m just looking for one off pieces, not starting a company etc, so if you have any pointers on where to start and how much it might cost I�d be grateful.

Samples are on the whole more costly due to the extra time and material waste when designing. Also you would have to factor in shipping and import VAT on the package which we be quite a lot for just one set of pads and gloves.

I've offered similar services for players and a few guys on here. May be able to source some custom softs for you, but you'd be looking at around �150 for a full set of pads and gloves.

Yeah seen as top of the range pads are around �100 and gloves �60

i dont see the need for custom pads really as they end up moulding to your legs with the straps etc anyway there are that many pads avalible if u cant find some that are right for u am shocking

You�re right. And often just leaving the pads tied up for a while helps. However as I said I�m just being really picky. When I can find a set of pads that have the look I want the feel isn�t there. Straps are too long, too short, etc etc.

But perhaps I�m just being too picky.

Easy enough to get the straps adjusted if its making them shorter as a team makes we're done by my old Doris before. So any good tailor etc should be able to do it if they are worth their salt

I recently had to do this with my pads...Just got some nylon thread (more like fishing line but bought from a haberdashery shop) and looped the strap back on itself about 2 inches where the pad meets the strap.

If I ever meet any of you...wazzocks...with your fat calf's driving the average Pad strap length up I WILL remind you of my cross-ness!

Lol @ Dan W - I'm one of those with calfs more suited to rugby than cricket.

Here is an idea for the manufacturers; create straps than can be cut to length. Surely can't be that difficult to do?!

What about the webbing fraying once uv cut it off and the pull tabs that you use the rip the Velcro open with

Not quite as easy as that lol customers are very demanding I can assure u
