I feel that resistance bands help improve strength in a safer way and are much adaptable than free weights. They can help you train safe especially during recuperation.

I like the different viewpoints :)
Keep them coming guys.

P.S. - Bands are working great for me(I am at my quickest with hands and middling almost everything), Duraband feedback is what I am looking for.

Responses very much appreciated.

..rubber tubing will help with making muscle stronger but will not make you faster...

Tushar I am in touch with a baseball trainer and according to him - its the way you do the same exercise. - Yes bands make muscle stronger but if used for short explosive movements - they help hand speed.

P.S. - this whole thing above is in regards to batting and bands.
How to use bands to bowl fast -  I am clueless.

... no, no, no, look, this is all rubbish...

There are some basic facts you need to understand about how the human body works..

1. you can only get "faster"  by getting stronger, so you can move the same mass, in less time, by creating more force, hence strength....... of course you can get faster in other ways, but that's not what we are talking about here.

2. to get stronger, you need to achieve "over-load", rubber bands, of any type, do not supply enough resistance to achieve over-load, so they are not very useful for training purposes...

you not getting faster because of the threa-bands, you getting faster because your practicing more!!!

I'm not saying don't use then if they work for you great, just need to understand the right reasons for it..

Sorry Ross, think you might be wrong there - rubber bands won't overload major muscles, but they'll easily overload the fast twitch muscles that are most important for things like wrist and bat speed.
