Good game today on a terrible wicket on and off the field, got 34 after being off for rain 6 times. We were bowled put for 85 in 24 overs. We then bowled extremely well and bowled them out for 40 odd, I kept for the first time in three years, 1 catch and only two byes fairly happy with that!

Yet another disappointing game today. Playing the team 2nd from bottom, was surprised when they chose to bat after winning the toss.  Bowled them out for 130 and had 8 of their overs
Tried drumming into every player that we only needed to bat through and we would get the total.  Couple of dodgy lbw decisions (including mine)  along the way, but we were all out for only 77. One of players was superb and batted from 4 to the end for 48no, but was so frustrating that no one could hold an end up.

Played in 2's. Bowled first and restricted the oppo to 198-9 from 52 overs. opened the bowling and had no wickets but 2 dropped catches, and managed to put my foot through the side of my spikes so had to play the rest of game in trainers.
On the batting side of thing, i came in at 54-5. They had a young bowler who i can say for sure you will probably not face any quicker in 2's cricket, off of him i was dropped third ball on 0, then went on to get 89* and my partner at the other end ended up on 52*, 200-5.
Catches win matches.

got a full game in somehow.

Made 25 batting lower down the order got out an over before the end, kept for first 20 overs due to injury and took 2 catches, then had to come out and bowl due to another injury and bowled 0.5 over 2 wickets for 2 runs to finish it off.

Top of the league, happy days!

Not a single drop of rain during yesterday's game.
Played Heytesbury/Sutton Veny 1's.
Bowled them out for 178, at one stage they were about 120 for 7-ish but we let them get too many runs. I took a catch, the first one this year after dropping about 4 in previous games   :-[
Went in at No.7 which was annoying seeing as I open for the academy  >:(
First game in my Ayrtek got 5 before having the worst LBW decision ever...
We got 110-ish

Played against Copdock 1st's, where rain meant that we started half an hour late >:( We bowled first after winning the toss, and had them 86-6 off 30 but we went quiet after lunch and bowlers bowled poorly and they reached 206-7..

We batted well at times, but some dodgy decisions and wrong shot selection meant we had to bat for the draw and we did 9 down! With myself with a lovely 3 not out off of 25 balls  ;)

Heard there pro was a bit of a sort

Run out for 0 in the first over without facing. Partly my fault but both batsmen were in the wrong. I was lucky not to have been run out the ball before at the non strikers end as the ball was played back to the bowler and he got a touch on to the stumps.

Lost for the first time on Saturday.
We batted poorly and struggled to 122 all out after 35 overs
then lost on the last ball of the opposition innings (45 overs).

The opposition were 8 down and need two to win and one to draw off the last ball. Batsman blocked the ball and ran. Our young 17 year old bowler picked the ball up and threw for the run out. The ball missed and went down to fine leg, they came back for the second on the over throw and won the game. Gutted!!

And I missed it all as I was at a wedding.

Well my p*** poor form has continued this season scoring only 1 on Saturday and getting bowled to a premeditated shot.  On the good side we batted first and put on 275-8 from our 40 overs, mainly thanks to some good starts at the top of the order and also a 7 wicket partnership of about 120 and reduced them to 215-9 from their 40, giving me my second win as captain!

I've been really happy with my decisions in the field, and my bowling changes have generally worked very well.  Unfortunately it doesn't look like I'll get to nets this week because of the weather so I'm not going to expect any improvement to my batting until I can have a really good net session and sort myself out!  >:(

Had a really good game Saturday, was my first game playing back for my old club. We were against the top of the league side who were unbeaten so far this year, our skipper won the toss and bowled first. After being 27-0 from the first 3 overs (with ex-Gloucestershire batsman Tim Hancock scoring about 25 of them!) we managed to reduce them down the 40-4, after Hancock got a thick edge to the keeper and was not given, managed to get an even thicker edge the very next ball which was given! We bowled them out for 117 in the end.

I opened the batting against last years highest wicket taker in Premier 1 in the West of England premier league Wayne Kylander so was a tad nervous! Ended up hitting 20 odd (taking 18 off Kylander's 2nd over) and we got the runs fairly easily 5 down... Our other opener hit 46. The win means if we win again next weekend we could go top of the league :D
