Whoop! We won our Last Man Stands league by virtue of the favourites losing last night! Unexpected and most excellent result!

Until yesterdays match I was in severe danger of ending up with more wickets 21 than runs 23 (from 11 games, 7 innings), however a stunning 11, has now rendered that very unlikely.

Always been a bowler who manages the odd knock, but for some reason this year I have just been getting out inside 5-6 balls every time  :(

And this is despite playing 30 over matches where i can only bowl 6 overs.

I'm currently on 28 runs 29 wickets! And that was including my 2nd top score of the season on Sunday (4, if you must ask, glorious whip through square leg...) but I've been batting at 9-11 this season instead of 6+7 like I did for my old club! A shame, as last season I managed to get to 20 no less than 3 times (which is no mean feat for me!) And I've got less runs in this season than in my top score (just ONE innings!) last season! Sigh, I'll get into the 30s even if it kills me...

I've got 498runs with 21 wickets so far this season between my saturday & t20 games - however I've only played 5 saturday games this season. Not bad going for my standards to be honest.

After the season I'm having I'm already looking forward to next seasons cricket. Which should hopefully be full season.

Consistent runs in at least the 20s and well maybe make myself into a bowler. But have to say my bowling stats this year have been amazing.

4balls for 2 runs and 1 wicket (they only needed 2 runs and my overhead height no ball was classed as a dead ball as that is no way to finish a game apparently).

We lost last Saturday, rolled out for 161 and the oppo knocked them off 6 down. I got 35 off 30 opening up before getting bowled off my pad. Need to win the last 3 games as it's getting seriously close at the top of the league!

Big game tomorrow against the top of the league and currently I have 10 players - pretty much sums up the season.

Currently 3rd from bottom, 1 point away from relegation with 4 games left to go - not really what I was hoping for when I took over as skipper this year ???.

At the beginning of the season I looked at the team and thought I'd be struggling to fit all the players in - I counted 15 when I tried to pick my best team. The reality has been somewhat different with people being unavailable through work and other commitments.

On a personal note I've finally found a bit of form with the bat - knocking 43* batting at 9. I open bowling, so usually bat myself down the order but can see a captains prerogative taking place tomorrow 8)

Just had a gander on your play-cricket profile Ian, you don't like to run much do you?! 35 including 6 4's and a 6, week before 69 including 6 4's and 4 6's! I reckon you've hit more boundaries in your last 2 games than I've hit runs all season! Hahaha

Gutted to miss out on 100 today, got my highest ever score for the 1's which was 95. Got to 50 in the 8th over whilst my opening partner was still on 1 haha. We won by 8 wickets which is the main thing and one more win and we're promoted. Yay

I heard that a few times as I was walking off :( I was bowled too!

Nice that 2 of their players clapped when I got 50 and one even came up to me and said "too many chances, was rubbish". He got 3 runs.

Haven't been on a while. Started the season keeping and batting 3 in the 3rd team, moved up to the 2s and kept batted 5 averaging 27ish.

So yesterday, got a chance to play in the 1s. Was keeping and batting 6. Came in 119-4, in a bit of trouble. Had a good partnership with our first drop, and batted for maybe 27 overs in the heat for 41 off 73. Was really pleased with it, as it shows I am ready for cricket at that level. I think it was the most work I've ever done, I was sweating out of my eyes at one point.  :(

Kept okay too, only 2 byes which I was pleased about.

Horrible day yesterday. Played a T20 inter-club game for my Sunday team then went and played a 45 over game for my Saturday team. We had 10 players and didn't get there within 15 minutes of the match start time so apparently the league rules meant we forfeited the toss(I was playing in the 2nd lowest division in Norfolk, it's supposed to be more of a social division rather than win at all costs..) so they put us in the field. Bowled my first 5 overs for 12 runs and they were 22-1 off 10. They finished on 251-9 off 45 and I finished off my 12 overs with figures of 2-64  :( .

I had completely overheated by the end of the innings so spent Tea cooling myself down, drinking water and trying to stop myself being sick rather than eating, we then went out to bat and got all out for 112, I came in at number 8 and got 1 run before prodding one straight into the hands of silly point.

Overall a terrible day however atleast we got a game in, on Friday afternoon we only had 7 players and the captain was thinking of calling it off(which would have included a 16 point penalty) however we got 6 points and the team above us only got 5 which means we are now only 0.051 behind them(it is points/games played) so if we win our final game of the season next week we might be able to avoid relegation. Hopefully it isn't quite as hot next week.

Won yesterday chasing 139 in a 35 over game, came down the the last over!
I batted terribly again.

Kept wicket with three byes, a catch and a run out. Couldn't catch anything in the first 10 overs, but the last 25 I got better.
Not bad for a part time keeper though

Opened the batting for the ones the first time ever, chasing 237 on a good deck and got into the mindset of smacking everything out the ground and it worked for a while and then ended up missing a straight one on 49 off around 30 balls was a bit gutted but i did my job i suppose!
