2 games this weekend, again! And today we managed to get some pretty good weather for once :D

Yesterday first, Home to Stalbridge 1's. We won the toss, elected to bowl when the conditions definitely bowling, and it showed. We had them 26-6 with our opening bowler taking 5-for within the first 10 overs. We then eventually bowled them out for 130. We chased them down with 10 overs to spare and 5 wickets in hand, our number 5 scored 50+ not out and finished the game off with 13 not out, off 42 balls. Good to be back to winning ways on a Saturday :).

Today, we was on the Astro wicket, due to the overnight rain ruling any chance away at the use of a grass wicket. However we won the toss and decided to bat. Lost a wicket after about 12 ish overs, in I came, batted through for the rest of the innings for 60 not out off 92 balls. We managed to score 151-6 after our 40 overs. We took a wicket within the first 2 or 3 overs, before our opening bowler had to hobble of the field with a suspected achilles injury, turns out to just be tissue damage thankfully. On I came, took 2 caught and bowled's, first the batsmen tried going over the top, however top edged it up, meaning I had to turn back, to run and catch it. Second was off their best bat, who smacked it back at me and I caught it, easy come easy go. We then rattled through the rest of the middle order and tail, bowling them out for 115. With our 14 year old, getting a wicket, and then a run out a couple of overs later to win the game for us.

On the other hand, football was crap tonight.

Forgot to add, my figures were 2-35 from 7.4 overs. And also dropped a catch, diving to my left, one handed. Should of had it. Of you can get a hand to a catch, it should be caught!

Season going well atm for me, Sat 1st team are now top of the table after giving the previous 1st placed team their first loss of the season and at their ground too. We got stuck in on a wicket that was pretty slow and low with very unpredictable bounce when short, When i got out on 49 we were about 80-6 however number 7 and 9 took us to 155-7 off our 53. Proceeded to bowl them out for 110 or so fairly comfortably  :)
Yesterday on a very wet wicket we somehow got a game in, oppo got 71ao we chased it in 10.2 overs and i ended on 50* with 3 6's off about 30 balls. 500runs@50 in 11 innings so far, aiming for 1500 now that im playing both days

Played a 15/8 ball over game tonight but because of rain was reduced to 12/8 ball overs. We got 167-4 in our 12, I got 36 off 17 opening before top edging a pull, they managed about 70-8 in their 12 overs. My first ever win as captain!

Played a school game against Wellsway today, they got 221 in their 30 overs with Tom Bancroft getting 100+*, I got 1-9 off 2 as everyone got a bowl. Opened up with a year ten who's awesome called James Bracey, I got 38 slogging because we needed 7 an over and I couldn't play Russell Simmons properly as he's pretty quick by my standards. Bracey ended up with 69 although we fell 50 odd runs short in our 30.

Played against Thomas (Aytrek) last night in a 2020. His team batted first and hit 110 from their 20, with some clean strikes from Tom! I didn't bowl but claimed a lucky one handed catch at mid-wicket ;) In reply we were all out for 105! I got out for 8 trying the hit a slower ball over to Wales....

haha yeah was a good game mate, i didnt think i was out LBW seeing as a was standing out side leg....just as I was going to cut loose too ;)

Our spinner should have gone for 20 off his 1st 4 balls! Never seen him do that before but he got one right when he cleaned out that lad turning it back through the gate.

lovely 1 handed grab though mate :D

Thornbury apparently, should be another good test!!

Yeah wasnt convinced and neither was the umpire after giving me apparently haha oh well thats life. In fairness our spinner took 55 wickets last season which was the highest in the B&D so hes useful when he pitches it

Transferred teams this morning, first game for new club hopefully tomorrow. Good feeling to be back at a level where I know I can perform again!

Not really mate, felt i got a bit of a bum deal getting dropped from the 1s (for 'having no heart', yet still being the 4th highest 1st team run scorer having played 3 games less), and while I loved the people I was playing with in the  2's, I could play similair or better cricket 2 minutes from my house as opposed to a 40 mile round trip 3 times a week! Westlands seem genuinely happy to have me come and play as well, which is nice.... and might get free refurbs from Kieron now as well :)

Cheers bud, got a lot to live up to I think, they've been clamouring to get me registered to play 1s tomorrow so might need to get my head down.

What are Westland 1's even like? I know they've got a very good setup down there, just don't know what league they play in or anything!
