I don't have the choice of using another bat as I only have one, but from using heavier bats in the past, I definitely hit it cleaner and further when slogging with a heavier bat

Simmy.. ur a Saint lending bats to teammates for matches.. I begrudgingly do so in nets but only because of worrying about damage from a yorker etc..

end of day mate there only bats and they are to be used,

id rather other people get use out of them rather than them just sat in the bag not doing nowt.

Bats get better with play, when I have new ones they will be used by everyone at nets for 3-4 weeks until I am happy with performance.

I do get it Joe but it must just be me.. I couldn't bear it, although it seems a great idea to let others knock your bat in for you and in a short amount of time which begs the question.. can a ball mallet do the same job as balls in nets? I love knocking away in the right areas whereas in nets it'd be a bit more hit and miss.

Regardless, I think I'm obsessive regarding aftercare and a fair few of my teammates have such sweaty hands!?! Urgh!!!
I'm not sure I'll ever look at my bats like Simmy but I guess if u play a lot in a season and u get through a fair few bats or like to keep trying new ones then that's the way to go...

I'll find out tomorrow when I face real cricket balls rather than bolas which bat is the right one to use for slogging if my timing is ok on only my second net session. The weather forecast is not promising for the second Thursday in a row!!!
My Uzi was my slogging bat last year but I'd love to use my Woodstock as I still found the long handle a little strange to get used to.. although it performed really well.

I always use a 2.7 bat at all times, get more bat speed, and I hit it just as far if not further than most in my team.

I would never let someone use my main or a new bat, other than with the bowling machine.  I would only lend out my "spare"

Given that by its very definition a slog is a huge swipe across the line, the bat weight really doesn't matter...
