He has represented Middlesex, South England and England at all major levels until 18, and is set to make his debut for Middlesex in 2009, after a strong pre-season performance during the tour to Dubai. We decided to catch up with Kabir and ask him a few questions.
How has it been balancing your schoolwork with cricket - has it been a challenge? Well i finished school last year so this year ive been full time cricket
What do you think of your chances at playing some first team cricket this year? Hopefully pretty good.... maybe some one day matches later in the season if all goes well
So how have you been preparing for the new season? How was your winter? My winter was really good, mainly spent it in england doing a lot of training. i also went to india for 10 days to work specifically on my bowling and i have just come back from a pre season tour to dubai
What players do you look up to most at middlesex - have any of them really helped you? Most of the people who have really helped me would actually be some of the coaches i have worked with both here and in india
Who is your sponsor? What kind of deal do you get?Right now im sponsered by fk sports, which is a company run by one of the players at radlett. their equipment is really really good and he is my friend so i get a sweet deal.
What would you look for in a bat?Im not too fussy with bats but personally i would prefer something really light and chunky.
Typical asian bat then haha?Yeah haha
Where do you hope to be in five years time?
I dont really like to look that far into the future because a lot of things can happen and they can happen quickly so hopefully il just be fit and healthy and still playing
Thanks for the interview Kabir.
