Were should I visit?
« on: April 11, 2012, 08:50:29 PM »

Hi Guys

Just acquired two weeks work experience in London during the summer Holidays.

when I am down there I would love to go to one of the handmade/customade companies factory and select a bat. Any ideas were? Salix and Blueroom come to mind. Don't want to travel to far

Any ideas of were to go I would appreciate

Scott

Hmmm. Visiting isn't that easy. Will you have a car? If so, h4l, salix, Newbery and chase could all be done on a big Saturday out.

Otherwise it becomes much more tricky!

Would be going by public transport I'm afraid. Would these still be doable by public transport?

Depends where in London you are staying. If you are west, head out to Chase@Dummer, very close to Basingstoke; North, Choice in Hertfordshire; East, Warsop from Liverpool Street and taking in BlankBats on the way!

I will be staying in the centre of London probably, around the walworth area. Would Salix and H4L still be easy to get to?

Salix is probably the easiest - it's very close to Maidstone.

If you are in Walworth though, it's as easy to get to Waterloo and go down to Chase.

What Tim said! ^^^

Get a train to Basingstoke from Waterloo (about 45 mins) then a cab to Chase at Dummer (10 mins) easy. Do give them a call first though.... ;)

Not only will you have the Chase workshop to look around but you'll have the delights of Serious Cricket and the Dummer Cricket Centre.....a day out of fun, fun, fun. And there's a bar..result! It is in the middle of nowhere though so arrange for a cab to come and pick you up when you get dropped off!
