I'm an opening batter, and I feel much more comfortable against pace than I do against spinners.  That said I have been working much more on being aggressive against the twirlymen.  I can't sweep well, so I leave that in the locker.  What I do well is hit the ball hard and straight.  For me the key is that even though I am coming down the track to get close to the pitch of the ball, I need to give myself enough room to swing my arms, i.e. not get too close to the ball.

If the field are penning me in, I will look to go over the top for 4/6 straight.  Most spinners/captains are very quick to drop mid on and mid off back to the boundary, at which point you can easily push 1s and 2s around with little risk at all.  Moreover if you have shown a willingness and an ability to go down the track, most spinners will go flatter and shorter.  I am happy cutting and pulling so that just feeds my scoring areas.  The good spinners have enough confidence in their control and ability to be able to keep tossing the ball up after they have been hit.

If fielders are close in it is a low risk shot, as long as you make sure you hit it. Don't just swing, just concentrate on clearing the infield. I play it a lot if I am being pegged down, also feinting to come down the track makes spinners drop short for easy cutting/pulling.
