Hoggy did get in trouble quite a bit with the ICC, Harmy was a bit of a faux pas on my part, I forgot he barely cares about anything ever! I rate Kohli higher than most of the Indians coming through, aside from Pujara and Rahane, who have both proven their abilities, Rahane doing so in England, a very tough hunting ground for the Indians!

Was Hoggy a naughty boy? I don't remember that! He seems such a nice lad!

Don't know anything about Pujara! I will try to educate myself about him......  :D

Rahane did look pretty useful in the few games I saw him play. His average of 30 from 11 odi's is hardly awesome though....I did expect him to have better stats than that... ???

Personally I think the IPL is really harming Indian cricket....Players seem to gain massive reputations from playing in it then find they can't transfer it to 'real' cricket.....I imagine the whole focus in India is on this competition to the detriment of the other competitions and most of the players are only interested in getting ipl contracts...

Shame really but it could kill the Test side for years to come...

His big hundreds and triple tons suggest otherwise

How long ago where they then? You think he could do it now? He gets bored after 5 overs....

If he wanted to then I can't see why not, he is very talented and when he seems to face a personal challenge usually delivers

But only if he's getting paid enough and he can play how he wants to play, when he wants to play! That is just not an attitude suited to Test cricket, or, in fact any international cricket.

He's an amazing talent, I totally agree, but he's not wired up right anymore. His motivation is money....nothing else!

In all fairness, the WICB are hardly blame free in this whole story ... it's very easy to make Gayle the pariah.

Looking back on things thin Kholi has come through the other side a class act possibly up there with the best at the minute

The best batsmen to watch currently in both shorter forms of the game. How long he can keep this form is the only question for him now.

In my opinion (doesn't count for much but hey-ho!) Kholi has seemed to work hard and is being rewarded with a superb period of great form. He looks very good at the moment, but whether this form will evolve into permanent class will be seen in a year or two - so time will tell on that one.
Gayle is Gayle. You have some technically gifted players who use their feet beautifully and you could teach kids of the perfect way to bat from watching video of them, and then you have Gayle! He isn't the prettiest of players and he rarely uses his feet, but he has an incredible eye and coordination! With his power and his eye working together, he can take bowlers apart and doesn't worry about boundary fielders as they will just be a spectator as the ball sails majestically over their heads 20 or 30 meters out of reach (and sometimes more!!!)
I think both players have changed their game. Gayle in particular seems to give himself a little more time to get that eye of his in! This may help his Test game if he ever plays Tests again on a regular basis!
