Thought I would share it with everyone a bag design that i have had in my mind for a while and see if anyone wants to try making it
, Please note that since this is inspired by a combination of bags I cannot claim a copyright on this so if anyone wants to take up making it go for it...I would appreciate that I get one heavily discounted
Now here are the images and further down i will try and elaborate some features, obviously the drawings are not professional and incomplete. I am more than willing to share the basic bag design inspiration with anyone if they are interested so get a better idea of what it might look like...
Ok so here we go:
1 - This bag is wide enough to hold 4 bats in the bat compartment which has all hard shell walls and soft 4 pockets inside. I hate the idea of having soft shell pockets for bats specially if there might be the weight of other gear on them when laying flat on the ground.
2 - Inside is a removable shelf, Just soft spongy material, strong enough to hold gloves, thigh pads, shirts pants etc...lowest level under the removable shelf is collapsable shoe compartment. You could rest the helmet on top of this and that way the removable shelf does not have to bear the weight of helmet.
3 - There is plenty of open space on the left inside so you could have 2-3 pairs of pads standing up.
4 - Just above the area for the pads is small pocket for keys etc...
5 - Bag has 2 handles, one is small fabric handle as in the drawing. 2nd would be general telescopic one that i could not be bothered to draw...
6 - 3 wheels to make it mobile.
You could also reduce the width of the bag to half (2 bats) and no shelving for a economy version that would still handle plenty of kit and be cheaper..as for the side walls they are fabric but can be made sturdy/solid with a small insert...front flap opens and has potential for a couple other pockets..
so if some one really wants to start this let me know and we can chat...just remember my discount
...inspiration for this bag came to me after i started looking for alternatives to standard kit bags...i like to carry most of my bats weather i use them or not is different issues, and have had problems with kits that are too massive and heavy but still dont fit all my gear...which is 4-5 bats, 3-4 gloves, 1 helmet, 2 pads, shoes and some other items comfortably...
