Australia has best tail end
« on: April 24, 2012, 01:23:39 PM »

I think Australia have the best tail end in test cricket at the moment... What does everyone think?

England's tail is Anderson plus one.
Australia seem to be giving anyone a game at the moment between 7-11, so it's hard to judge really ... ;)

I have to disagree, I think that England's is far more competent with Bresnan, Broad, Swann and Anderson

I think Harris , Starc, Hilfenhaus and Lyon is a pretty good tail... Throw Pattinson and Siddle into the mix and I think that's pretty impressive

On the other hand, Broad has a test ton and 8 50s, Swann has 4/5 (not sure which), and Bresnan averages 40 in Test Cricket! I'd take them over the Aussie tail, although to be able to at least hold the bat at 11 must be nice, when we have Finn/Monty it all seems a bit Chris Martin, although if you play Bres Broad Swann Jimmy, it looks much better! SA do well too, Steyn/Morkel can bat, and Philander has a few FC tons. NZ get by as well, Chris Martin aside of course!

Australia definitely has the player who bats best with the tail in Mike Hussey.

That's probably a fair call, although Danny V does a decent job. SL have the worst, in Thilan Samaraweera, God he is poor with the tail! Angelo Mathews a close second!

Danny V IS the tail! Although his record is pretty decent I can't believe NZ have allowed him to be recognised as a top 6 batsman - one of the ugliest techniques out there!

Atleast English batsmen run they're bats into the crease. Unlike Mitch Starc!

True that! Very true! Danny can still bat though, he just has his own way of doing things! Haha
