Twine...

2 of my bats have quite thick grips on them...I've heard of people removing twine to make them thinner - has anyone else tried this?

I assume you mean they have a thick handle? because if it's a just a thick grip then you could simply find a thinner one.

Personally I think unbinding, reducing the handle thickness and rebinding would be better but I can't see any harm if the handle is in decent condition. But be aware the binding is there to do a job.

Cool, thanks (and yes, there's only one grip on it)! I might give it another try in nets and see if I can get used to it.

And if not, you could remove the twine and use electrical insulating tape instead...

You could unbind and rasp the handles down in size before rebinding them.

Has anyone here tried using an unbound handle, I imagine it would give you some good whip.

Wonder if we will ever see different handle flex's as seen in golf clubs?

There are already whippy handles available or extra stiff ones, you can choose this when getting a bat made.

It is simply a case of starting at the top and wrapping the twine tightly round and round and round and round, you get the idea....

Oh yeah, I had strategically left the posting until tomorrow as Friday is the cheapest day to do so...
