I watched from behind the stumps as a very decent batter got a classy fifty against us at the weekend using a L&W private bin which he said was around 6 years old and the best bat he'd ever used.  He wants it to break so he can buy a new one!  This was Milnthorpe vs Ambleside in the Readers Westmorland League Division One.

Not really seen anything too exotic yet. One of our youngsters has a well used Warsop Venom. A couple of Willowstix Anacondas were on display by our opposition at the weekend, and one of their youngsters aimed a ferocious drive and lost the inside toe corner of a very new looking Chase - ouch!

Young lad was using a Nixon storm in a recent game, flew off the middle. Traditional profile, thin edges.

He's our all-rounder!  So no surprise.

Erm from the feedback it was a decent track, could have come on better but with this weather no worries!

I came in at 9 so only faced one ball!
