I have quite a front on action so if my foot was parallel to the crease then it would make me twist?

Classic mixed action and very typical cause of back pain. If your coach is telling you that his is ok then he is a numpty and doesn't sound properly qualified.

The corrective action I was taught to coach is to get you to bowl more side on, making sure you're looking over your left shoulder when you deliver, as opposed to inside your front arm. Never really understood why going the other way and changing the way your back foot lands instead - maybe a more experienced/better coach can explain that one to me.

Ive had 3  coaches look at my action and they all say its fine, got a good bit of advice today at training, apparently I was leaning forward when I loaded up which made me use the muscles in my back to hold myself up, will try to get the footage up in a bit, managed to take some today

It did sound like a mixed action as Johnny mentioned above

Ideally you'd want footage from 2 angles; behind the bowlers arm and square on.

Again,  I was taught to assess bowling actions in pairs

The Chest on action ala Finn, Broad,Pattinson, Steyn etc seems to be what modern coaches are implementing. Twisting and jerking actions seem to be a thing of the past.

Steyn and Finn's back foot both don't point forwards, they're close to 90 degrees

Flintoff's foot pointed inwards and looking at this image is it any wonder why his career was shortened by injuries.

Why it wasn't coached out of him as a youngster we'll never know

Yeah the guys are right, where your feet land can drastically effect what your spine is doing, and a lot of people can only see this after being on video.
