2 Bats - Shark and RK L&W Heritage
« on: June 27, 2012, 11:51:27 AM »

I thought it was probably about time I reviewed my Great White Shark bat that I bought earlier this season, and whilst I'm at it I'll do a quick review on the re badged L&W I bought from Ryan and used at nets last night.

First up the Great White 5 fin.  Well I love it!  This is a monster of a bat the edges are huge (as you can see from the pics I took when I first got it http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=15947.15), and on the odd occasion when I have edged behind it's flown for 4. The pick up is very good indeed and it's a nicely balanced bat, if you middle the ball there's no point in chasing it!  The only change I would possibly want would be to have an oval handle, but this doesn't detract from it in anyway.  All in all a great purchase and worth every penny.

Next up is the L&W Heritage I bought from Ryan, if I love the Great White, I am absolutely head overheels in love with this, and that's only on the basis of 1 net session!  It's a tad lighter than the Shark, but the pick up and overall balance is perfect for me, it has a great ping and the replacement handle Ryan added doesn't detract from it in anyway.  It does need a little more knocking in as Ryan advised me, but I'm happy to do that as I can't wait to use it in a match.

Both will be on full display during the CBF AOC game at the end of next month if Buzz picks me  :)

Any questions on either let me know and I'll do my best to answer

That Shark looks nice, do you know who makes the bats for them?

I think you're right there there's a post about it in their section somewhere.

If you're looking at a new bat you can't go wrong with one of these it's a lovely piece of wood

Yeah I heard that he made them as well, was just checking. I've got a Vantage bat made by him as well - really nice bat, finished very nicely.
