The first cricket box was used in 1874.  The first cricket helmet was introduced in 1974. So, it took 100 years for men to twig that their brains were also worth protecting.

A massive megadrive. Under-rated bat as it looked crap, but I had a carbo scimitar break and they sent a pro-performance mega back, gave it a go and never looked back!

Great topic! My first Gray Nics was an Ultimate 750, size 6. Was awesome. Also owned a very nice powerspot, a Lara 375 Scoop and I still have my dad's old scoop too.

If I was buying one today I think a Scoop would be my first choice

Mega drive or mega power? I don't remember the mega drive in the UK.

Dynadrive for me....I will definitely be buying the sexiest Dynadrive I can find when they re-release them next season....

On a side note, I get so confused with the labelling nowadays...What the hell are the different grades within each range? Which are the best ones and the worst ones? Is it 3*, 5*, Extreme, Performance, pro performance....I'm lost! Will someone please explain it to me? I keep seeing bats on eBay but I have no idea whether they are midrange, bottom range or top of the range..! Too confusing!

Dynadrive for me, only ever borrowed one for a few games but it was a beauty of a bat. It's a toss up between that and a L&W for me next season.

Gray Nicolls Longbow 4* with the cloth facing. Bought for £35 and is an absolute gun.
