Just a quick reminder, guys - this is the final week of our CBF30 Olympics Offer.  If you want to take advantage of our 30% discount, you need to place your order by Sunday...

have just ordered the last remaining 5 star mjolnir. this will be my first newbery. thanks for the offer, its a really great deal and very tempting to go nuts!

the video review on your site sold it, though i thought it was pronounced "meeyolnir" (Thor's hammer, right?).

cheers

Hi Raj, thanks for the order - good choice! The bat will be with you soon - I'll keep you posted on delivery...

As for the pronunciation, I actually queried this with my contact at Newbery, and he insisted it was MUH-JOLL-NAH, so I have just copied him, even though the Nordic / Thor origins suggests you've got it right!  :)

I shall ask my Norwegian next door neighbour the answer to that one when I next see him!

If you were to say it in the Norwegian (or Swedish) pronunciation, it would be something like

Mee yoo'll nir (http://www.forvo.com/word/mjolnir/)

Though the yoo part should be spelt with a ø or an ö, so without that i guess it just be

Mee jol nir

I really want that Newberry Tour bag, but the £20 international delivery is stalling me. Maths has never been my strong suit, so let me work out whether the 30% off will nullify that to some degree... :)

I am trying to fix this international delivery thing at the moment, actually.  £20 is actually way too low for something like the Tour bag! That cost us £64 to ship to Canada today... I know this is the opposite of what you want to hear, but wanted to be honest and give you the head's up...

I knew international postage wouldn't be the cost of a bag of crisps, and £20 is actually pretty good when all's said and done. I'm thinking it's worth sucking up for the bag!

OK, you can take off the VAT as well then.  Brings the cost down even more!

Ha! I didn't even think about that. Sold. Will speak to the missus (she keeps all the funds, see, and will be getting it for me as a Father's Day present) in the morning and will be sorting it for sure!

FedEx charged me £42 for a cricket bat for International Economy delivery 1-8 days.

The actual  and volumetric weight of the bag will be much more and therefore the courier will be at least £60 imo. ParcelForce is much more expensive. Lookout for a additional charge that I was quoted by ParcelMonkey as my home was close to a Olympic venue and also for a delivery in a suburb in NSW!! No such charge quoted on Parcel2Go

It costs anywhere between A$50-A$70 to get a bat couriered from Aus so about the same price.
