Toe split - Unfixable?
« on: July 20, 2012, 06:21:34 PM »

Alright chaps, now my beloved bat, after 3 years, has a developed a hairline crack (classic innuendo!) along the bottom (even better!) and the back of the bat, wouldn't be able to tell you how deep it is, but I thought I'd get your thoughts on it. Sorry for the poor photos, the camera wouldn't focus, stupid thing!

It doesn't look too thick, but I'm just wondering if anyone has had anything particularly similar!

Cheers,

Ben

Wood glue, I assume, as opposed to anything else?

pva glue bud although the pics aint great it doesn't look bad at all and should be fine if you get it sorted now rather than later.

Agree, there isn't anything too bad there, glue and clamp; just invest in some good quality tape to hold the wood together for afters.

Cheers chaps, opened it up - not split all the way through, which is good, maybe 4mm deep. Will PVA it tomorrow, and have to use one of the spares on Sunday if needed!

get the pva as deep as possible and wrap as tight as you can get it in parcel tape should you not have a vice.

Got a vice in the garage, but will do both just to be safe!
