If they get rid of teas I'm not playing!
The teas can be the highlight of some games  :(

It is how I feel. On of our leagues clubs proposed teas be dropped. Thankfully it was not even seconded.
Had it become a rule I would probably have stopped playing Saturday's and just dropped to the shorter format games

It's great if you have good volunteers, I would be happy to see them go though, they are a bit old fashioned.

Lots of clubs seem to have  difficulty getting someone to do teas what with the shopping the making and transporting also it's difficult to provide a decent tea for the money then what do you do with the food when matches are cancelled on match day before players have turned up did hear of a  clubs not wanting to refund  the money  for the food brought when the match was cancelled telling the tea  provider to use the food himself.

lol! Are you serious? You play cricket on a saturday for the tea?

You drive 85 miles to an away game out in the sticks.
You get stuck in traffic at Stone Henge so arrive 20 minutes after the allocated start time.

Thankfully your skipper wins the toss and we bat first. We then fail to bat out the overs. You are run out in a "yeah, no, sh*t, sorry" call from the guy at the other end.

Teas are quality! Coronation chicken aplenty and enough cake to satisfy anyone, the first plus point of the day.

The opposition chase down the runs in 45 overs. There was a lot of time spent retrieving the ball from the fence.
Following the defeat and a trickle of cold water provided by the "shower" you have an 85 mile drive home.

While you were playing cricket you missed the first half of the champions league final.

That is what happened to us a few weeks ago. A day where tea was the highlight.
If teas weren't provided there's no way I was playing in that game!

Had a rainy day tea duty last year. Went for the lazy ploughman a (cut up the French sticks at the ground and open the packets, let people help themselves).
The sealed packets weren't an issue, but I was never going to eat 6 baguettes on my own!

Agreed - a good tea can lighten the darkest of days!

'How good one feels when one is full – how satisfied with ourselves and with the world! People who have tried it, tell me that a clear conscience makes you very happy and contented; but a full stomach does the business quite as well, and is cheaper, and more easily obtained. One feels so forgiving and generous after a substantial and well-digested meal – so noble-minded, so kindly-hearted.' Jerome K jerome

Agree Buzz, Bank of England gave the single worst teas known to man!

You've obviously never played at Cheam, or at Imber Court...

Uhh, is this just an English thing? Closest thing we have for a 'tea' where I play is if the home team puts on a bbq after the game to encourage everyone to stay around for a beer or two. Looks like we are missing out!  :(

Used to play a friendly T20 against Arup at North Middlesex CC's ground. It got washed out a couple of times, but the tea was always great and the beer flowed after the match.
