Lets be honest, KP isn't going to play for England again and Broad is a much better player than Bresnan.

I meant a bit more long term, maybe for NZ tests

Is Broad really better than Bresnan? I know who'd id rather have playing in my team

Neither did I.  All I can say is thanks for the memories!  Not many england captains can have double ashes winners and taking the team to the top of the world rankings on their CV's.  I'll never forget the superman grab from 2005 ashes though...

Hmmm your all overlooking the power and sway Adidas have with the ECB, Petersen is the Adidas  poster boy for everywhere outside of India and they have a lot of money invested in him and they will be squeezing the ECB to get him reinstated as there is the Twenty/20 world cup and the ashes just around the corner and if Adidas continue to sponsor England and remain in cricket they will want their slice of it all.
In regards to Straussy a great captain and servant to English Cricket especially when you remember the state the national team was in when he stepped in and took the captaincy on, a damn shame he cant just have a nice long holiday play a bit of Grade cricket in Oz etc and work his way back till he is ready to take up the captaincy for the Ashes next year or the new Zealand series.

Hmmm, I reckon you're getting the ECB mixed up with the BCCI. Adidas are tied in to a contract, and I can imagine there are 100s of other companies who would love to be the ECB kit sponsor. Would also imagine its a small part of the sponsorship income when compared to Sky and Brit Insurance. Can't imagine that they will have any input at all!
