Giving it a name means you can compartmentalize it, come up with a way to beat it and throw it away. A psychological trick if you will, and one that works pretty well.

That's the thing, psychology. Before my run/walk up I'd rather be thinking about 'how do I want to play this guy?' or even just the basics rather than 'I hope I don't get the Yips'. '

Don't get me wrong. It's what ever works and I know this works for me.

Well, step 1 (if it stops bloody raining!) I've got a box of 6 balls, a piece of chalk and unpopulated club nets.

Over the next few Saturdays, just going to bowl at a spot and get the action going, and most importantly for me - the grip and the realease - that's where I am falling down, the old hand turns into the  'Claw of FuManchu'!!
