Hahaha - the grip tape is like that as I have a habit of pulling the grip up when I bat and I try and fix it with tape...

I'll have to get on to fixing it - especially the Hammer bat (I need to fix the bottom of the actual grip on that one).

Here is a side profile shot of the four bats (sorry for quality):

The Vapen is a really interesting bat.

Despite its profile, you can virtually hit it anywhere and the ball flies - it has great ping. Edge, lower, middle, upper (obviously not too high on the splice) it doesn't matter.

Unlike the GM and Kooka where you can tell exactly where the ball has hit, there is very little feedback with the Vapen, it is really hard to describe. The RNS is similar.

It is a great bat if you need to score quickly as it feels like a ball masher in the hand.

Unfortunately you do need some discipline so you don't try and bash every ball, hit a rash shot and get out.

The bowlers in the team hate it at net practice  :)

The Kooka is a fantastic bat. It has a low middle and so much power for driving. If you are on a pitch that keeps low and plays unpredictably it is the bat to have as you get great value for your straight shots. It has fantastic balance and picks up lighter than its 2.9. I really love the feel of the ball off the bat as well. You can tell exactly where you hit it on the bat. I can not praise the Kooka enough - it is truly a special bat (and my number two next to the GM which I adore - but I think if I used to Kooka more, I'd love it more!

The RNS is also a great Indian bat - but similar to the Vapen - it is a bat which makes you want to go out and smash the ball, and you can virtually hit the ball anywhere on the bat and you will get value for your shot. The bat gives very little feedback as to where the ball hits though. It is a bit heavy for me, although it does pick up quite light for its weight (2.14) - it is solid all the way through the bat, top to bottom. You often surprise yourself with how quick the ball comes off the bat. I have to say - out of the four bats, the RNS is probably number four on the list. I may get some weight knocked off it and see how it goes.
