Broke the thumbnail on my bottom hand
« on: September 17, 2012, 07:50:43 AM »

I can't find gloves that protect the thumb on my bottom hand. My thumb seems to be shorter than the standard used by all glove manufacturers. And, I keep getting stung on the stub end of my bottom hand thumb, no matter which brand I put on.

Last week, this bowler got a ball to kick off from just short of good length and almost broke my nail clean off. Its one of the worst things that can happen to you. Imagine bamboo torture.

Basically, my thumb is not sitting inside the little thumb protector insert. What do I do about this problem?

I had on a pair of GM original le d30 gloves.

I don't think there's much you can do, unless anyone knows of anywhere that makes gloves to size?

If you can fit another of those rubber cap but smaller into your present one. That worked for me.

U must just be unlucky. I take mine out as its annoying. No issues for me. As mentioned double cap it or take it out. Push some foam inside to pad the end and then refit the cap. Should bring it a little lower

Hi johners77, I don't have much confidence in my own glove refitting skills. I don't think I would be able to find the supplies either.

I had a boys pair of gloves which didn't fit me , so took it out of there.I normally use youth gloves . If you are still in the season look around your club house or ebay for cheapest used . I have also pinched washing up sponge scrub to fit inside the rubber cap.

Thanks Blazer. I'll definitely try something home-brewed.

Really easy. Old pair of gloves and take them apart. Use bits from there. You can also use a normal sponge as mentioned before
