Wow, I thought I'd seen it all! I guess Joe Public wants those artificial straight grains, although it doesn't mean squat. Well, GN had a scuff sheet with fake grains, but this seems to go a step beyond with the branding.

Btw, why would Newbery send 5* bats to a trade show instead of all SPS? Thought they'd want to display only their very best wares...

They were showing the concept to retailers, who will probably be buying more 5* bats than SPS.
