Seems as these big headed people are telling everyone who magnificent there shots were last season .
I thought I'd make a topic for us more modest people who either got out/got away with an absolutely hideous shot.

Me myself, loves a hideous shot! I just can't resist doing it!

Fourth or fifth ball I came marching down the wicket to a medium pacer, tried to smash the leather of the ball, completely missed it and got bowled middle stump haha

Change of bowler at one end(knew he hardly bowls)..first ball he bowls I try and get the slog sweep out....clean bowled

First ball of last season tried to smash it for six (opening), the ball went straight up in the air and the keeper dropped it  needless to say I put the shot away for a few weeks

my worst shot was my second game of the season, I had a massive red mist moment and got cleaned up for one. not the best way to to start a run chase.

haha i decided to try and defend the ball (for once) no swing no seaming a perfectly straight ball at under 50 mph and he bowled me -_- mind you this was 2 years ago i have improved (i think :/)

I've had many bat shots that are equally as bad as one another.

I got bowled a full toss by what can only be described as a 12th change spinner, tried to melt it for six, massive top edge and I was caught on the boundary when we were on top of the run chase

Worst shots

a) First few balls since getting to the crease.. bowler bowls a low full toss.. Master batsmen I am thinks 'easy runs here, whip it away through midwicket'... Only problem is... I missed the ball!.. bowled.. oopppsss

b) On 71 and cruising.. young spinner is on.. decided to hit him into oblivion.... yeah, I just missed it and was bowled

c) Tried the dill scoop, middled it!!! only my shoulder, making it balloon up to the wicket keeper.. looked a right tool (and felt one)

d) Saw off the opening bowlers, and first change.. sat on 49 in a first team game.. Mr part timer comes on.. bowls a rank long hop... master batsmen that I am decided to pull it.... yeah, completely missed it!! LBW... out.. gutted!!!!

Watched a guy get out bowled to a bouncer yesterday....it was so slow it took the top of off stump, on the way down. He nearly put his back out trying to slog it!

skipped down the wicket after being at the crease for a while, missed a half volley :S off stump out the ground..turned out i was on 47 ......idiot

My best and worst shots happened in the same match and very much set the tone for rest of the season. Having played a nice shot and buoyed by classiness of it , I declared to myself as the best player in that cricket field. I decided to loft a leg spinner through the covers into the field amidst the sheep. The ball hit the bottom of the bat and looped to mid off . Classic rookie mistake  .

Needed to bat out last few overs batting with the tail for a draw (bloody time game again). Old trundler bowling loopy pies and i checked a nothing push straight to cover what a muppet or words to that effect was all i heard all evening in the club house.

Loved watching the utube just posted.. Lots of ashes action.. Flintoff is the reason I got into the game in 2009, guys a legend. Luckily I now have the same bat maker that made his bats so chuffed
