Kippax 2013
« on: December 29, 2012, 12:46:09 PM »

Kippax have rebranded the range for 2013. New Wavex looks great and the profile is massive.
Bought a Stallion toward the end of last season. Awesome ping 2.9 massive profile and unbeleavable amount of grains. (22)

Have a look on the website.

Here a couple of pictures of the Wavex

shame about the website!

I can't figure out why people don't focus on their image and 'shop front' more.

A great example is h4l. Their website is fantastic, also loo at Pro Guitar shop in the US.
Great image = amazing sales.

Yes, a professional looking website does catch eyes! I think H4L, Laver and SAF are among the best looking websites.

I'm not too keen on the stickers if I'm honest with you, it's missing something. I prefer the older medieval dragon look back around 2005 I think!

I work a couple of miles away from Kippax and popped in October for some end of season repairs to my bats, picked a few up and do like some of the profiles, wavex looked huge for the weights with a decent pickup (probably could do with big oval handles) & very tight grains, was pretty impressed especially with the bulk purchase discounts! Guess that Internet sales are not really there target sales based on the site.

I do have a Kippax from 2009 as a net bat and its not too bad but maybe ready for a trade in as its been cleaned up and repressed.

When I was in the Army, I played with a guy who used a Kippax.
It was like a railway sleeper and went like a train.

He used to constantly say 'dig in' and then from nowhere launch one over the bowlers head from a gentle prod. Awesome.

I've not seen one since (living in Essex and North London I'm not surprised).

Thought I'd add a few pictures of my Kippax Stallion to show you what the bats are looking like these days. I've had a Vitra Legend Wavex in the past which was an awesome bat but this one is even better. This one is a 2Ib 9oz, high middle, 35mm edges, gentle bow concaved spine and around 24 grains. It has the standard straight, round handle rather than the Wavex. This years Stallion, Wavex and Retro have even bigger profiles with very light pick ups. I'll try to get a few more photos of the 2013 range.
I've been using it in the nets so far but goes like a bullet. Probably start the season with this and will be the perfect bat for the indoor nets with the bounce indoors.

I don't mind them, always been a lover of M&H to be honest but I know the guys pretty well and they make some good stuff. I call in for a brew every now and again, they usually have something new to show me.

Is it possible to go to kippax and get a bat custom made with the customer selecting the cleft and everything.

Living not to far from there soon might be a nice little journey

I think you can, yes.  Odd to see Methley mentioned - another of my Dad's former teams!

I used to play against Peter Kippax. Are they still near Harrogate?
