What also seems the norm now adays is people having a pop too easily. The lad asked if the bat was real or not. Wasn't trying to sell it. Surely we need to be a bit more welcoming and offer our worldly advise. Not jump down people's throats.
I think it's quite right that the source of such a bat gets discussed and 'outed'. It's only through these sorts of discussions that the fakers and fraudsters get found out (and the hiding of which has helped them flourish). I'm sure there's enough recycling of the "show us your grain" threads to ying up the rather stern yang of these sorts of threads. They are both essential though!
puts me off posting things up for sale myself and buying things, dont want to be branded as just using its for selling, or risk getting scammed
But you've got 400+ posts to your name...No one could call you up for 'just selling'.
In any case, I'm not sure many people are tbh, the problem (of people registgering just to sell) is imagined to be a lot bigger than it actually is. Sure there's kids and Del Boy types, but they get quickly found out and suitably disregarded (or Daddy comes in to tell them to stop!).
