Everytime that SCAT or anyother bats related to the whole thing have surfaced it has either been: Are they good? or Wow they are fantastic? look at the posts on pakpassion where they are doing reviews etc etc... they all start with i got this bat, isn't it awesome..

AbdulRehman on CIF and i think he had the same username here... guys originally involved was Sarmad on twitter...

to be fair CIF guy was claiming it was a plank, said he even offered to send it back to JM but he declined etc. etc.... as soon as moin posted bubber sher from his uncle's shop alarms went off for me....but i also know CIF guy was trying to sell it to "recoup" some of his costs....

What also seems the norm now adays is people having a pop too easily. The lad asked if the bat was real or not. Wasn't trying to sell it. Surely we need to be a bit more welcoming and offer our worldly advise. Not jump down people's throats.

I think it's quite right that the source of such a bat gets discussed and 'outed'. It's only through these sorts of discussions that the fakers and fraudsters get found out (and the hiding of which has helped them flourish). I'm sure there's enough recycling of the "show us your grain" threads to ying up the rather stern yang of these sorts of threads. They are both essential though!

puts me off posting things up for sale myself and buying things, dont want to be branded as just using its for selling, or risk getting scammed

But you've got 400+ posts to your name...No one could call you up for 'just selling'.

In any case, I'm not sure many people are tbh, the problem (of people registgering just to sell) is imagined to be a lot bigger than it actually is. Sure there's kids and Del Boy types, but they get quickly found out and suitably disregarded (or Daddy comes in to tell them to stop!).

One that got a bit hushed away...

I think I heard somewhere that it actually wasn't a scat (surprise, surprise) but I don't know what else has happened. I'd love to know what it actually was in reality...

My fault on the comms front.

Yes, we pretty much proved the nathrobbo Scat was fake (I had a ton of email to-Ing and fro-ing with Mr Millichamp himself)

Mr Watson has gone underground it seems - don't think Nath got his money back :(

Thats a shame, you gotta feel for the buyer even if its buyer beware...i can't remember if it had stickers on it but if it did (which i think it did) the original seller did some handy work didn't he!!

But I think the point in that one, is that previously I wouldn't have doubted any bat with the SC stickers...And now we have reason to suspect that they aren't the guarantee of a genuine bat.

Of course, it did help that the bat they decided to use for the fake was shaped as such that Felix Baumgartner could spot it was dodgy was nice of them...

Ok, so it's only 2nd January, but this could still easily be comment of the year! :D

To be fair, even from the stratosphere you'd need to know the original shape before you could spot the fake. But luckily JM takes precautions to safe guard his work - all SCATs being serialised

I've still got it, I've tried to get in contact with Rich - Watsontotty - and since doing so he hasn't come on the forum since  or refunded my money.

like its been mentioned, have to be very careful. other the past year i've been on the forum its become very clear to me who are the decent honest people and best to deal with.

i for one have been guilty for having a pop a few times, its just built up over time and unfortunately come out. i apologise

love it here

Its a real shame that a minority make people wary of the forum as I've been utterly addicted for the last 18 months or so since I joined and I'm sure most others have too. I think its definitely a case of people having to be a bit more careful when buying in future and sticking to buying from those who have been around for a while would seem a good idea. Using the feedback function properly whenever you buy or sell would also help potential buyers. Whilst I've bought/sold a few things on here its definitely a forum first rather than an ebay replacement.

Nath - I don't really get that involved with stuff like the shaq saga but really sorry to hear you've been ripped off.
