Jacques Kallis has to be the most underrated player.
The best allround cricketer ever. Batting average above 50 over such a long period. Bowls 90mph on his day and has bags of test wickets. One of the top 5 slip fielders of all time.
Plays all 3 forms of the game and excels in all of them with bat and ball.
Yet people still seem to forget all this when they talk of the greats of the game.
Absolutely agree, the man has the 11th highest test match average of all time, and the highest of anyone in the modern era, over a period of nearly twice as long as anyone above him (160 tests, nearest to that is 93) which shows excellence over such a long career, longevity which includes a career bowling (admitedly less so as of late) whereas all above are batsmen.
44 hundreds, 2nd most of all time. The only flaw is that he never made a triple ton, but neither did some lads called Tendulkar or Ponting. 4th most runs of all time (probably be second by the time he finishes). 6th in ODI's.
Add in that he is SA's 5th highest wicket taker in tests, 3rd in ODI's, the man is the greatest all rounder of the modern era, if not all time.
He even has an ipl contract, excellence over all forms!
