Mongoose ToRQ bat Titans of Cricket
« on: February 02, 2013, 01:01:21 PM »

Recently acquired (source and cost confidential), 2lb 10oz, 33mm edges, apparently only used on the evening of the event itself. I have given the face a light sand and two coatings of oil.

Did you buy the set on eBay? Went for a great price for 2 top grade bats and softs.

Any chance of rolling down the grip and taking a photo of the binding, or describing it? I'd be interested to know who made these

Wondered how long it would take for the detectives on the forum to work if out. Yes, purchased the bundle from ebay recently. Checked the handle for any clues perhaps a players name, there is nothing on there. Will try and photograph as requested soon. Be interested to know the source, thank you.

you got a bargain, I posted it in the ebay thread
Last time i checked was 100 for 2 bats, gloves and pads.
Shame they didnt mention the damage to the edge.
Im sure if the seller uploaded better pics, it would have gone for more

Yes they should really have mentioned the crack. There was a photo of the face although not high res. Conversely, a better all round description would have probably resulted in a higher selling price. Agreed to let me collect as it was only a 40 mile round trip saving £24, so an even better deal. The polo shirt fitted too! All in all pleased and positive feedback justified.

Yeah can't go wrong with that deal even if the bat was cracked.

How did the second bat turn out?

Any pics of the binding with the grip rolled down slightly as Tom requested earlier?

If the binding feels hard (as if the string has been lacquered) to touch, it looks like a Keeley made one.

The binding doesn't appear to be lacquered, this can be seen from the photograph?

I have a Salix bat where the binding is obviously lacquered, the Mongoose does not look like it has been.
