Make all sports unisex, and the top people in each sport represent the country. That is true equality. If that ends up being 11 men or 11 women, well, that's tough, but no-one can then complain.

Womens sport would then cese to exist at an international and more than likely county level...it would never work

Possibly so - hypothetically, is this a bad thing?

There would be enormous socio-political implications, there is a reason so much money is spent annually to encourage female participation in sport despite a very small percentage being financially viable as businesses

Indeed - its always interesting to see the politicians trying to sell women's sport!

Does anyone think that maybe women have a duty to support the female athletes by attending these events? I find it disappointing that men would drag their female friends to a match but don't see the same excitement for the other side...

I'll be trying to attend some of the womens test matches that are in the UK this summer hopefully (if there are any, I've not actually checked). I personally actually prefer the womens game (same with womens football) as I find I can learn more from them than watching men.

plus the obvious of course :)
