You are talking about value for money. Isn't this is different for ping to price ratio?
Value for money is a more long term concept - what you get for your money and for how long.
But these are very subjective as we are comparing willow, which is a natural material and chances that all grade 1 bats at a particular price point will offer same quality is not possible.
Well, yes and no. We weren't looking at longevity, we were saying that a bat that costs GBP100 and pings and picks up well might be better value for money than one which feels brilliant but costs GBP350. It was an attempt to provide some form of guide.
The important thing to note, though, is that these were different bats and therefore would have had different characteristics, so even then, it was more a bit of fun than a scientific experiment.
