When Paul offered us a few £'s extra discount to celebrate his birthday I felt the urge to take the plunge and order a custom Supreme.
My brief was simple.
A bat which had amazing balance, ping, and pick-up with an extended middle set a tad lower than normal.
The toe would be angled to stop feathering over time and take a few oz's from the dead weight.
Minimal concaving.
35mm (ish) edges but not huge.
Weight; 2lb 13oz
11 grains
About an inch of heartwood on the outside edge.
Paul used the phrase "Bully bat" which does describe my batting style somewhat.
Anyhow, so I changed the grip configuration to half a chevron covered by a GM control (shame they don't do them in black).
So, that was the brief, what arrived?
It's been knocked-in an had two nets.
The results are stunning.
The simple, elegant stickers show the stunning grains hiding nothing.
How does it perform?
Nothing short of outrageous.
The balance is superb. I waved it around as if it weighed nothing.
The middle is both long and explosive. I found myself playing in a very correct and precise manner, no hooliganism as when I have my Tempo in hand.
The balance is so good that you can be really precise with your shots.
Gentlemen, each and everyone of you should call Paul (not at once) and avail yourself of one of his bats.
I am sold!
I can't wait to use it in a match.
