Weather looks good for a start on time, hopefully you guys will turn up from all one today.

Surely you don't hope we turn up? if we do it'll be all over in 3 days...

It works on a small scale. We 'sponsor' a minor counties player and vital first team player at the biggest club in our area. No end of kids have bought our own brand bats because he is using them.

In theory it works, but doing it nationwide would require a lot of effort, time, and money still. probably not the amounts needed to get top internationals on board, but that route is certainly easier.

After 5 or 6 games last season a player in the club I play for in London got contacted by Bradbury on the back of his play cricket average. They sponsored him, he went to the showroom and could pick out any kit at cost price.

They then sent him a good luck e mail every Saturday morning (well a generic one to sponsored players)

re Trott, I heard on the commentary that he has never out of his 3188 test runs he has never hit a six, that must be the most runs ever scored without clearing the rope.

Trott is simply outstanding always has been his aptitude for batting is insane.

As for Compton he is showing a few people and back to back hundreds is a sign.

Glad for him in the same mental mindset as trott it looks.

No matter what the bowling or pitch.

There both like everready batteries they keep going on and on.

Compton is no world beater but what he is is somebody who knows there game knows what there doing and how to do it.

Great day from England, both captains seemed to've misread the pitch as it looks flat as a pancake. Good toss to lose!!

i dont think the pitches deteriorate as much as other places in the world so they both many have been thinking the 1st morning for any movement(if any)

will be interesting to see if there is any spin for Monty when NZ bat and if Anderson gets any swing

more bounce and pace in this wicket far better than the dull game last time round.
Trott is becoming a total success at number 3 for us,Compton clearly can play.....

nothing wrong with a bit of an understatement! there are only two current players averaging over 50 in ODI and Test cricket. Amla is the other.

Also Shane Watson has scored 2 hundreds in 40 tests, Nick Compton has scored 2 in 6 tests

Unless we bowl sensationally, I think this game will be a rain affected draw
