Fantastic stuff from England and prior especially. But to say prior is second only to gilchrist as the best keeper batman ever is a bit much and typical hype. He is only 3rd in the world at the moment in my opinion but agree he could be up there as the best England have had.

AB de Villiars is there (almost by default) and the stats say he is the best in the world currently, but who else, surely not Mr Balls of Steel Dhoni?

I didn't read anywhere on here that someone said he was the best ever.

MS and AB ( and gillchrist) keep and bat in all forms for their country. Play in the IPL etc. I love Prior and think he should be playing all forms as well but he doesn't.

I would pick both of these above prior in a world x1

ABDV always looks very tense when he's keeping, watch when he takes the ball standing back, seems to have very hard hands. Doesn't look a natural keeper.
 
Still quality though, but wondering if anyone else can see what I mean?

AB for me is undoubtedly the best batter in the world at the moment. Although he does play a very different role. Matt Prior definitely the best number 7 keeper batsman in the world. MS is petulant and not bothered outside of India. 1 hundred and an average of 33 is not world class IMO!

No but that was not the question. Who is the best keeper batsman in world cricket ? AB in my opinion.

As far as pure gloveman then the best is probably not even playing international cricket.

I don't think he's the best gloveman in the world, bt I agree with Kieron that he's got the best hands, and that gets him out of trouble a lot. He's also the best athlete which helps. His hand eye co-ordination is just unbelievable!

What we can be sure of is there is plenty of work to do for England. Flower will know that England have been outplayed by an average NZ team on very very batsman friendly wickets. That is the thing about flower, he won't be getting carried away by a drawn series against NZ and will be working very hard to make sure they are ready for the summer tests.
