Dunno why but this bat really does it for me, I think it looks really classy. Every 5 star Newb I've used has been poor at first but developed into a stunner so if this goes the same way it should be a beaut.

Colesy have you knocked this one in yet mate? I have one too and I know its PKI but did not feel really good till I started knocking it, only spent 30 mins total on it. 15 on both edges and toe and 15 on the middle (literally while taking a break durning nets) and it was instantly miles better.

I have to say this is a lot better than the owner's TT he had before it broke. Just looks and definitely feels better. It weighs about 2.8 but the pick up is ridiculous on it.

I've briefly knocked it in, the owner broke his foot at nets so I focussed more on the RNS so I could get that done before so I'll do this next. Tushar, I've always found that with Newbery made bats, don't take as long as others to knock in, but the difference is noticeable.

I have only experienced one 5 star, and that was a Mjolnir. I will say that there is noticeable improvement with each knocking in session. They feel pretty unresponsive compared to the likes of CA bats, but I sold my Mjolnir (regrettably) and noticed that with a throw down session, every 10 throwdowns or so and the bat felt a little better. I don't know if it is because I got my eye in more, or because it was just opening up! But Newbery 5 star bats are great value for money in terms of performance! I'm not sure what their grading is, but I think it is G3 willow, although you get the odd couple that look better than SPS grades!

Good to know mate, I love knocking in my bats but I don`t enjoy 10 hours on each unless i feel its improving. Some never feel like they are getting better and then all of a sudden one day they have morphed into a gun (GM)

Personally I only round the edges of my bats then put a face on it, but my GM went from ball 1 and is the only bat I've had that I'd be disappointed when that day comes.
