Wrights have, for the most part, never allowed buying in bulk of grade 1 alone. If you wanted x amount of g1, you had to buy 2, 3 & 4 as well. As a result, a g1 cricket bat is not necessarily created from a g1 cleft...

but dont the companies make grade 2, 3 and 4 alongside the G1s?

And does that mean they classify grade 3 from wrights as a grade 3 bat?

not at all wrights only grade the look of the rough sawn cleft, it can be a whole different story when you start getting into it !

Hi Guys

HitsHard is something I have been working on with Andrew at Salix on over the closed season. I didn't want to say anything or post bats etc as I would obviously want to take them to the market and sell to you lovely people. As you will all be aware at present HitsHard is not a forum sponsor. I have approached Admin in the past and the website should be finished soon.

HitsHard are indeed part of the Salix family. HitsHard offers amazing handmade bats in two grades, power and grade 1. There is just the stock shape at present and a single set of softs. In the near future I hope to bring the brand to the forum, but in the meantime please PM me of you want anymore info etc.

Thanks.

Got my copy of the cricketer through..... 8.8  :) the best priced bat and beat a few others in the bat test............ great effort !

assumption being that wrights grade based only on looks - they always claim that its based on looks as well as something else.

Always leaving a few blanks in between.

that makes a lot of sense.

Explains a few brands that  never seem to sell a grade 4 and only a few grade 3s every now and then! lol

Soulman - So Andrew (Salix) makes them for you or are you working for them?

Fast Eddie - I'm trying to work on the website speed. Lots of tweaking is needed but I'm waiting for an update to address the website formatting which may well help.

Thanks for the kind words Blazer and fasteddie

David just out of curiosity, what browser was the site designed for? Seems to work better in chrome but i think its the high quality pics on the main page that are slowing it down...you need a way to keep the pics of same quality but improve speed...

Safari and Chrome are the two browsers I use most. I'm going to scale down the images this afternoon as I suspected they were too dense, but this confirms it.

As I said in my email, I've got so much to tweak over the next few weeks.

Cool and no worries, Starting something is always busy but all this early work with pay off in the long run...

It doesn't work on my work computers as they are poocakes.  However, I can get it to work on laptop/tablet/phone, albeit very slowly

HitsHard is Andrews company as it is a parent company of Salix. I do work there but only on part time basis and I work for free, I have been learning the art of bat making and I am very early in my career. I do some handle binding, polishing at present so starting at the bottom with the aim of working up as and when I have more time around my 9-5.

Anyway the bats are all made by Andrew, Ben, Hugh, the master craftsmen at Salix.
