They finally arrived - Ordered 30th January
After a few seasons my Kookaburra Kahuna 1000 Batting Pads (RH SM) were starting to look a little tired and weary. They'd had a good innings, I'd say about 80+ games and god knows how many net sessions.
I was torn between the modern flare of the new Puma Pro range, or the clean modern/tradition styling of the Salix Pod Players.
After reading many good reviews on Salix range, I decided to go down a route that was a little more low-key and less lightly to receive banter on the field

So, was the wait worth it?
The gloves are right handed mens:Fit - They're nice and snug, although both of the tumbs feel a little on the large side. Overall very comfy.
Pittard Palm - Very good. A much nicer feel than my Kookaburra K800s and provide a greater sense of touch (through the glove) whilst holding a bat.
Protection - Will update once I've been hit on the hand! However, it looks more than adequate.
Ventilation - I dislike inners, so this is important! Basically they're as ventilated as most other gloves on the market, with the mesh gussets looking as expected. I'm unsure about the thumb vent, but presume that this will be useful if we get any sun this year. Will update at a later date.
Movement - I've never had a problem with gloves needing to be worn in, but the multiflex system seems to provide excellent flexibility.
The pads right handed youths:Fit - Great! A little less bulky than the Kahunas and a little less excess strapping to get in your way, none in fact.
Knee cavity and bolster - Good padding, feels like they're providing extra protection and a bit of support for my old knees.
Flared instep - I'll see if this is of any use.
Leather instep - A must, in my view. It looks of good quality and should stop any wear for a while.
Protect - Appears to be excellent and again more than adequate. Will report back with any issues.
Over all the finish is quality. As I'd hoped and very pleased
