OK went down to dummer serious cricket last week to buy a kookaburra k600, ended up with a k400. after tapping them both up the 400 felt and looked better then the 600. 11 grains with heartwood a couple of blemishes but was really impressed with the rebound with there mallet. so for 100 Quid was worth a go.

I'm pretty sure these come pre-knocked in so i just tapped the edges and toe for a bit and went to nets with it. I have to say I'm very impressed its a big bat for 2'9 and it goes really really well, but I'm still getting a fair few seem marks on the face, nearly every ball to be honest. it does sound a tad tinny in places has anyone used these and whats peoples opinions of what to do? more knocking in?

Yup. Knocking and a few months of batting to wake it up.

I'm knocking in one of these bats for a customer at the moment, and it's one of the harder ones... They are pre-prepared so good to go in the nets after just a couple of hours knocking-in, but as Steve says, I think they will take a few months before they really start to wake up due to how hard they are pressed...

If you hold it up to the light you should see loads of round indentations on the face. I'm pretty sure they are machined knocked in or used to be.

With these flatter faces, the edges are as sharp as a knife though, Rob, and need rounding! Machines can't do that...

so is it worth taking back to get knocked in? i agree does feel quite hard pressed.

Ah right, I haven't seen any of the new ones. The older models you could see the where they were all machined knocked in. Are all new kooks flat faced now?

You can send it to us, mate, and we'll do the job by hand for �17.50. Quite experienced with these flatter faced, harder bats now!

When bats say ore knocked in mate you still have to knock them in Mate.... That's why it's cracked mate as it hasn't been knocked in properly fella

Alright mate well personally I wouldn't be to happy as I spend hardlys any time on the middles on my bats and they don't crack like that mate
